Al fresco luxury with KönigOutdoor

KönigOutdoor have created many stunning schemes for homeowners and designers alike all over the UK.
A recent example is this beautiful space designed by Stevens Design. The clients wanted to transform the outside space into an “entertaining haven” as they love to cook and spend time with friends and family – outside! It was important that this space was functional as well as being magical to the eye. Nestled between two outbuildings is where you will find the outdoor kitchen hub.

Initially, the Stevens Design team could not find a supplier that matched the homeowners’ brief – a stone fronted, handleless kitchen with the quality and durability of an indoor kitchen but built to withstand the outdoor elements – until they found KönigOutdoor! The KönigOutdoor team brought the concept and design to life and, most importantly, met the homeowner’s requirements.

A high-grade, weatherproof carcass was used along with a sintered stone surface which is heat-, scratch-, stain-, frost- and UV ray-resistant – perfect for outdoors!
The door fronts are Iron Corten Satin by Neolith and the work surfaces are Absolute Black Granite. The granite is leathered to create an “ageing” theme; which can also be seen in the surrounding oak and floor tiles which are a light grey with rust/orange flecks.

Kevin Stevens from Stevens Design comments, “After working with the family four years ago on their indoor kitchen, I was initially brought in as a design consultant when they decided to embark on this outdoor project. We decided to increase the size of the terrace and build a bridging roof (courtesy of OSO Timber) between the two outbuildings to shelter what would be the outdoor kitchen. Adding this bridging roof also marries the two buildings with a symmetrical arch framing the dining area. KönigOutdoor ticked all the boxes I was looking for and the team really worked well with me in creating a bespoke kitchen that didn’t exist before!”

With regards to appliances, the homeowners knew what they wanted and didn’t want to overcomplicate the area – an Egg BBQ, pizza oven, sink/tap and fridge worked for them.
Kevin explains the design concept further, “What you can’t see from the images pictured here is the beautiful bespoke pool designed by The Bespoke Pool Company.
We designed the outdoor kitchen area so it would fit symmetrically in line with the pool and large sitting area. You can see this from the fire pit straight to the pizza oven flue. We also introduced lighting specialist, ‘Lighting by Plum’ to the project, who used lighting to generate warmth and also draw your eye back to the centre point.”

When designing the space Stevens Design had the vision of walking into a secret garden as the property is surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. The homeowners are even working on a herb garden through the red door on the right to tie in with the secret garden theme. Fresh herbs straight to the KönigOutdoor kitchen!
“We love the final kitchen and use it much more than we originally planned both in summer and right through our winter. We are really impressed by the process that was followed and how we were led through a structured design, sourcing and engineering process. We are thrilled with the quality of the outdoor kitchen and the job is just so much more than we ever imagined!” comments the homeowner.

Joanne Bull, Marketing Manager at KönigOutdoor comments on the project, “This stunning outdoor kitchen really showcases the bespoke nature and quality of a KönigOutdoor kitchen. Using a mixture of sintered stone and natural granite, the attention to detail in the manufacture is incredible. Kevin Stevens (Stevens Design Refurbishment & Build Ltd, Maidenhead, Berkshire) worked with our team closely to refine many areas that required a laser focus to meet with their clients wishes. Our design teams collaborated to form details such as molding the worktop around the Kamado Joe grill and also encouraged us to expand our offering as we had to create external drawer packs, a stone faced handle-less channeling for the doors and draws, as well as provide a safe solution for an external power socket in an island unit.”
